Oscar Recap

First, I want to say a huge Merci Beaucoup to everyone for all of the well wishes regarding my engagement!  SHS and I are over the moon happy and excited and I can't wait to share waaaaay too many wedding plans with all of you.  I also have a giveaway that will be posted later this week as a special thank you to all of you.  I can't tell you how much I have gotten out of blogging and want to do a little something in appreciation of your support and friendship.

Last night I was, of course, very excited to see all of the Red Carpet fashion before Billy Crystal opened the show. (Sidenote: I do think he's the best Oscars host and from the get go said this year's show was better than last year's.)  I can't wait to see everyone else's favorites and how my list of best dressed compares!

Jessica Chastain is one of my new favorite celebs.  She tops my list for best dressed.  The McQueen dress was gorgeous and ornate, but the strapless style and simple accessories didn't detract from her beauty.

In my mind, Penelope can do no wrong.  She always evokes the feeling of a classic movie star, this time in Armani Prive.

Octavia Spencer looked stunning in Tadashi Shoji.  Yay for her winning for The Help!

Milla Jovovich chose Elie Saab for her first Oscars, and the sparkles didn't let her down.  Love this look and her red lips.

I was secretly hoping Michelle Williams may have pulled off the win for My Week With Marilyn.  I am always excited to see what she is wearing, and the red Louis Vuitton she chose was perfect for her.  I love that she is always unique and true to her own style, and I love the bow.

I adore the color and beading of Kate Mara's dress--it'd be higher on my list without the netting on the one arm.

My college crush, Pharrell.  Well done, sir.  Well done.

Best Actor in a Leading Role was a category of total hotties. I was very happy Jean Dujardin won--I loved the movie and he was so cute and happy in his speech.

Who was your best dressed?  Any movies you were pulling for?

  2. Lots of comments!

Jessica Chastain is my girl crush. I loved her in Tree of Life (didn't love the weird nature scenes but gosh she's so pretty). Loved Milla's dress. Loved Gwyneth's dress but didn't like her cape thing and hair. I thought Emma Stone's dress was so pretty (color and the bow was cute). Agree that Penelope can do no wrong. Always looks amazing!
